Where Mold is Lurking
In a recent conversation with one of our customers that had a mold damage to their home, we talked about how sometimes the damage cannot always be seen right away. When a subtle source - like a leaking pipe behind a wall - is involved, it is only in renovations or another problem arising that the damage can be found. The CDC states "Mold will grow in places with a lot of moisture, such as around leaks in roofs, windows, or pipes, or where there has been flooding. Mold grows well on paper products, cardboard, ceiling tiles, and wood products. Mold can also grow in dust, paints, wallpaper, insulation, drywall, carpet, fabric, and upholstery."
If you are think you may have mold based on smell or sight, please give SERVPRO of The Andovers a call (978) 475-1199. We can help determine what is going on.
