Dressing for Cold Weather
Unlike our beloved four legged friends with warm layers of fur– we rely on warm clothing to keep us warm! Going out during the winter months can be a process. Read on to learn some great tips on how to properly layer up to stay warm and comfortable!
When its “Chilly” outside (40-50 degrees F)
- 1-2 layers ( long sleeve tee and sweater)
- Outer layer to block rain and wind
- Long pants
- Warm water proof shoes
When its “Cold” outside (30-15 degrees F)
- Warm hat and gloves
- 2-3 long sleeve layers
- Outer layers to keep out wind and wet snow
- Water proof boots
- 1-2 layers of warm insulated pants
When its just plain “Freezing” outside!
- Warm hat and gloves
- 3+ shirts layered, one insulated if possible
- 2+ layers of pants
- Face mask
- Insulated jacket to keep out wind
- Warm water proof boots
- Thermal socks
